Under the supervision of Mrs.Buchney, School Counselor, several students have written Public Service Announcements expressing their messages about the negative effects of underage drinking. These slogans will be submitted to the Sussex County Coalition for Healthy & Safe Families as entries to their April contest entitled: Youth and Alcohol: Get the Facts…They’re Sobering!

Emma: Hey Janis, I’m going to have a party at my house. Do you wanna come? Just for the record, there’s gonna be beer. If ya don’t come you won’t fit in with the cool crowd.
Janis: Do I have to drink to fit in?
Emma: Yea. Drinking is not all that dangerous.
Janis: Almost 12% of adolescent drinkers get into alcohol related fighting.
Emma: So, are you coming?
Janis: Why would you wanna drink anyway?
Emma: Why should I wait til 21?
Janis: Research shows that the longer you postpone drinking, the less likely you are to ever experience alcohol related problems.
Emma: Wow, I guess I shouldn’t drink.
Janis: Yeah, you shouldn’t.
